Once again, our school will take part in a special, community-wide reading event. Every student will receive a copy of the same book Tomás Goes to Oliver’s House by Xiomara Gallego-Bernard and will be asked to read it together at home from March 2nd to March 5th. I am personally asking you to make the time so that your family can participate in this special activity.
Reading aloud at home is valuable because it better prepares your child to be an effective reader. It is also a fun and worthwhile family activity. With this program, we aim to build a community of readers at our school.
A daily reading schedule will be sent home with your child/children on March 2nd; it also will be emailed to you. Generally, you will be asked to read about 20 minutes each night.
I know that you will enjoy this special reading time with your children. With your help, we can build a community of readers at our school.
Sincerely,
Mr. Frank J. Mazzini
Principal
