Gifted and Talented
The Gifted and Talented programs at County Road and Luther Lee Emerson Schools are designed to challenge the minds and expand the educational horizons of those who are in the program. We are dedicated to creating student centered learning with opportunities for experiential learning.
In the beginning of the school year, all students in grades K-4 complete a math prerequisite assessment. During this time their reading levels are also assessed. The criteria to get into the program are listed on this page to the left under “Criteria.”
As students are assessed yearly they are not guaranteed placement in the program each year. Once the assessments are complete the parents of those students who are accepted into the program, based on the criteria, will receive a permission letter home in the mail in October.
